Extras, Green Living, Health, Recipes | No Comments
Why spend a fortune on ant-aging face masks and other face treatments that may contain questionable ingredients, when you can make your own low cost treatments from ingredients you can find in the produce section at the market? Below are a few recipes for natural anti-aging facial treatments, including some that you can eat the extra!
STRAWBERRY SMOOTHIE FACE MASK
In a food processor or blender, blend 1 C. Strawberries, 1 C. Plain Yogurt, & 1 Tbsp. Honey. Apply a thin coat of the smoothie to your face and allow to sit for about 10 minutes before washing off with lukewarm water. While waiting, drink the remaining smoothie.
OLIVE OIL MOISTURIZER
Olive oil has both anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Smooth a light layer all over your face and throat as nighttime moisturizer.
POMEGRANATE EXFOLIATING SCRUB
In a food processor, combine 2 TBSP. Pomegranate Seeds and 1 C. Oats. Transfer to bowl and blend in 2 TBSP. Honey and 2 TBSP. Buttermilk. Apply mixture to face and let sit for 5-10 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water. Refrigerate any remaining. *To make a body scrub out of this recipe, add ¾ C. Turbinado Sugar.
GREEN TEA EYE TREATMENT
To soothe tired peepers and reduce puffiness, chill two used (make tea) Green Tea bags. Once chilled, place tea bags across eye area and relax for 10-15 minutes.
PUMPKIN PUDDING FACIAL
Blend 2 C. Canned Pumpkin, 4 TBSP. Plain Yogurt, 2 TBSP. Honey, plus 1 TSP. Pumpkin Pie Spice (or just cinnamon). Coat face with mixture, leave on for 10 minutes. Eat remainder.
