Savory Nuts

Nuts can be good for you for as a nice mix of protein, fat, and carbs plus vitamins and minerals and antioxidants.  What’s not good for you are the packaged store bought flavored and roasted nuts.  These nuts usually are roasted at damaging high heats in bad for you oils.  They might even have bad for you preservatives, artificial flavors, or added sugar.  But while your best choice in nuts are raw nuts, many people like to have roasted and flavored.  So, the simple solution is to make your own nut mixes.

This recipe is easy and makes a bit more of a spicy nut mix.Nuts

INGREDIENTS:

2 C. Mixed Raw Nuts (or single nut of choice)

2 Tbsp. Butter, Melted (or coconut oil)

1 Tbsp. Gluten-Free Soy Sauce (or coconut aminos)

1/4 to 1/2 Tsp. Ground Cayenne Pepper

Sprinkle of Mineral Salt

DIRECTIONS:

1.  Heat oven to 200 degrees.

2.  Combine all ingredients in large bowl and spread evenly on a greased baking sheet.

3.  Bake about 15 to 20 minutes or until nuts are toasted, but not burned.

4.  Serve warm or allow to cool and store for up to 3 weeks.
