I made this recipe recently and it was so yum! I’m going to make it again soon. Perfect fall treat or anytime that organic apples aren’t outrageously expensive. You can use any apples for this recipe, but I used Gala. Galas have been my favorite of late. Just be sure to buy organic apples, since they are a heavily pesticided crop.
5 small to medium size organic apples
1 tsp. cinnamon
3 tbsp. grass-fed butter
2 oz. each raw cashews and almonds (or nuts of choice)
Your choice on whether or not to peel the apples, but you need to cut them and slice them. I like smaller slices, but your choice. You could also chop them.
You can either put the apple slices in a butter greased baking dish or put them in a bowl first to mix with other ingredients, then transfer to baking pan.
In a food processor, chop the nuts until they are fine (or more coarse if desired).
Melt grass-fed butter (your desired method).
Blend cinnamon and chopped nuts into melted butter. Either pour butter mixture over apples in baking dish or pour into mixing bowl with apples if you want apples more thoroughly coated, then transfer to baking dish.
Place apple dish in oven and bake @ 325 degrees for 20 minutes or to desired apple tenderness.
