Hot Chocolate or Eggnog Protein Shake (Contains Anti-Aging Ingredients!)

I discovered this recipe in a booked called Clean Eats by Alejandro Unger. It was called Rejuvenating Eggnog, but I decided to alter it to my own preferences like I do any other recipe I come across. I’m pretty sure I am incapable of making any recipe exactly as I find it. What you have here is my own version of this recipe (which is why I renamed it).
Actually, you have two versions – one is more like hot chocolate and one is more like eggnog. Okay, neither actually tastes like hot chocolate or eggnog if you are expecting the sugary versions of those drinks. In fact, the eggnog isn’t even creamy unless you use boiled milk.
BASE RECIPE:
2-3 Pastured Eggs *I use 2 really big ones.
2 Tbsp. Grass-Fed Butter *I use Kerrygold.
2 Tbsp. Collagen Protein Powder *I use Great Lakes Collagen Hydrolysate.
1 Scoop Protein Powder *I use Designs for Health PaleoMeal.
1 Tsp. Ground Cinnamon
1/4 Tsp. Mineral Salt *I use Redmond Real Salt.
2 C. Boiling Water *If you want this to be creamy, you want to substitute the water with your milk choice: coconut milk, unsweetened almond milk, or grass-fed cow milk.
Put all ingredients in blender except boiling water (or milk). Turn burner off right after water comes to boil, then pour water into blender and blend immediately. *Do not use high setting on blender.
OPTIONS:
To taste more like eggnog – Add 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. nutmeg plus 1/4 tsp. cloves *Can also add sweetener, but for your health, don’t. *The milk version would, of course, be more like eggnog.
To taste more like hot chocolate – Add 1 Tbsp. raw cacao *Can use chocolate flavor protein powder instead or use that and the cacao for extra chocolatey goodness. *I use Navitas Raw Cacao Powder.
