Very Simple Horseradish Sauce & The Health Benefits of Horseradish

Horseradish is an underestimated vegetable and condiment.  Recent studies have found that horseradish is effective against cancer (it’s a member of the cruciferous veggie family).  Rather than me write about all the benefits of horseradish, I’ll link you to an article from Life Extension because they did a good job in explaining the health benefits.

As the article mentions near the end, an easy way to get in some horseradish is on top of a steak.  Yum.  I like putting horseradish in my crockpot with a roast.  Gives it a nice flavor.  Horseradish is pretty pungent, so a little dab will do ya.  If you want to tone it down a bit, try making this super simple sauce:

1/2 C. Plain Full Fat Yogurt

2 Tsps. Horseradish, Grated  (I recommend buying Gold’s Prepared Horseradish)

*I would avoid most store bought horseradish sauces as they typically contain bad oils or sugar or other junk.  The Golds’ Prepared Horseradish I recommend is just horseradish, vinegar, and salt.
