Product / Supplement Recommendations


Clients and students often ask me about products that I recommend/use, and especially nutritional supplements that I recommend/use. So, I thought it would be good to put together a list of some of the ones that I personally use or recommend based on research or, in a few cases, even recommendations made to me from experts or by experts (the ones I like that seem to know what they are talking about). I’m always researching, which means this page is one that will get updated and added to on a regular basis.

When it comes to the supplement section, I tried to hit the “biggies” (in my opinion), but I can always add and will add to this section, because, as most people realize, there are thousands of supplements on the market. Generally speaking, I do not endorse supplements that are part of a marketing network or can only be bought off one website or catalog and nowhere else. Most supplements that I recommend can be bought on or or or other similar websites and can also be purchased at your local nutrition stores. *You may pay more locally, but support your local nutrition stores when possible.

I do mention a variety of brands, but generally speaking, the major brands I most often use and recommend are Jarrow Formulas, Source Naturals, New Chapter, Gaia Herbs, Designs for Health, Thorne Reasearch, Life Extension, and NOW brand.

I don’t on this page specifically spell out why or when you would want to take certain supplements. I’ll leave those opinions for my blogs (and for your qualified medical practitioner). It’s intended to simply be a basic guide and my recommendations on brands and products that I think can work well. I try to make note if I personally take a product. Keep in mind, everyone is different and everyone will have different reactions to different supplements and products. What works for me may not work for you and vice versa. Trust me, I have trialed and errored many a time.

When it comes to the product recommendations, I tried to cover beauty and personal hygiene products fairly well because I believe our skin is a mouth and what we put on our face and hair and body does affect our health. I also believe that the cleaning chemicals that our skin can come into contact with or that we breath the fumes of affects our health. So, most of my recommends, including things beyond the two categories just mentioned, are based on either health or environmental impact or both. I do recommend that when you can make your own products, please do so. I will cover recipes and ideas in blogs.
